Department of Chemistry
Department of Chemistry started its journey since the inception of Manipal University Jaipur and has made
significant contribution in academics and research in all areas of Chemical Sciences. The department boasts of
receiving funding worth more than Rs 1.20 crore from several funding agencies like DST-SERB, DBT, UGC-DAE,
State DST. Faculty members are publishing a large number of high impact research papers, book chapters and
books. Department had also organized National and International conferences, workshops and societal connect
programs. Our faculty members have always been in the forefront for organizing many important events at the
University level like Rajasthan Science Congress, INSPIRE camps etc. The faculty members have brought research
visibility in India and abroad by entering into collaboration with Universities of repute all around the globe.
Programs Offered: B.Sc. (Hons) Chemistry, M.Sc. (Chemistry) and Ph. D.
Department follows Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Outcome Based Education (OBE) in all academic
programs. The students are provided with comprehensive practical and theoretical exposures to these courses.
Students are given exposure to research at the UG and PG level by introducing projects in the form of
self/problem-based learning (PBL). The students at their UG/PG level are also being prepared for National level
entrance exams like JAM, NET/GATE. In order to expose the students to modern day technology, department has
procured some high-end instruments which are part of the Central Analytical Facilities at MUJ and are being
given training on these instruments. Through the postgraduate and PhD programs, students are provided with
the opportunity to pursue an independent research project in an area of their interest under the supervision of a
faculty in the department. This is likely to enhance student’s employability across a broad range of careers.
