SCRAWLED FILEFISH

File sh have small mouths with only a few short teeth in front, but they do have very strong jaws. They are able to feed on marine life that is poisonous to most other  shes, such as hydroids, sponges and tunicates. They can even bite into and digest the stinging  re corals  p. 73 .
WHITESPOTTED FILEFISH (Cantherhines macrocerus) < 45 cm / 1 5 ft Orange body, often with white spots. Sets of hooked bright orange spines near the base of a round black tail.

White spots are not always seen. Pale mid-body bar extends towards the belly. Often found in mated pairs.
