TN Visa – NAFTA Agreement with Canada and Mexico
• Allows citizens of Canada and Mexico to obtain work authorization with a U.S. company
• Based on North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between U.S., Canada and Mexico
• Occupation must be on the NAFTA list. Common TN occupations include computer systems analysts, engineers and management consultants
• Canadian citizens apply at U.S. border or with USCIS
• Mexican citizens apply at U.S. Consulate in Mexico
• Valid for 3 years and no limit on extensions
• TN spouse cannot work
