Nonpolar Covalent Bond
NONPOLAR COVALENT BOND: Two atoms of the same element bond together and share the electrons evenly.
DIATOMIC ELEMENT: Molecules composed of only two atoms (two atoms with nonpolar covalent bonds)
F2 means there are two F’s
1. The bond is called nonpolar because there are no positive and negative poles (charges).
2. The difference in electronegativity of the two elements is zero. This is because it’s the same element.
The electronegativity of F is 4. 4 – 4 = 0
