From the moment Sarah Hughes became President and CEO
of GrandBridge Corporation two years ago, her leadership has
been defined by confidence, collaboration and compassion. She
believes that trust, transparency and shared purpose are the
foundation of strong teams and thriving communities.
For Sarah, leadership begins with listening. She actively seeks
insights from employees, customers and partners, ensuring
every decision reflects both community needs and a bold
vision for the future. “Everything we do is centered around
our customers,” she says. “We keep their lights on, keep them
connected and keep their homes comfortable.”
Her approach balances strategic thinking with a deep

insurance, telecommunications and utilities — and strengthened
through navigating several major mergers in Ontario’s energy

Nicola Melchers, a long-time partner at SV Law, takes
over the role of Managing Partner at SV Law this coming
January, marking an exciting new chapter for both her
career and the firm. Known for her strategic mind and
steady leadership, Nicola brings more than three decades
of legal experience spanning two countries.
Originally trained and qualified as a solicitor in the United
Kingdom, Nicola worked in private practice and as in-
house counsel for Lotus Cars before moving to Canada.
Called to the Ontario Bar in 2009, she joined SV Law soon
after and quickly became a versatile advisor in business
law, construction, municipal and land development
matters, real estate, and wills and estates.
Nicola’s leadership extends well beyond the office. Deeply
committed to community service, she has held roles on

Managing Partner at SV Law Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation,
Cambridge Rehabilitation Homes, and been actively
involved in several local charitable initiatives.
