MEMBER PROFILE
Growing up in Galt, Rob Douglas
always looked for ways to be
engaged and involved, not
standing on the sidelines.
“When my mother would encourage
me to read books like The Adventures
of Tom Sawyer or The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn, I would tell her I
would rather paint the fence than
read the book,” jokes the long-time
Cambridge business leader. “I often say
that I’ve always liked to be a participant
as opposed to an observer.”
As CEO of Roseview Global Incubator
and one of its founding principals
along with Mike Dearden and Melissa
Durrell, Rob has the opportunity daily
to be very engaged thanks to the local
company’s commitment to assisting
international entrepreneurs pursue
permanent residency in Canada
through the Start-up Visa Program
(SUV).
“We work with international
entrepreneurs to help them establish
sustainable businesses in Canada,
creating jobs, wealth and prosperity
in our local communities,” he explains,
taking a moment to chat in the
company’s Thorne Street office. “In
a word, Roseview is a team of nation
builders.”
Created in 2020, Roseview Global
Incubator – named Business of the Year
(11-49 employees) at our 2024 Business
Excellence Awards in May - is the latest
in a long list of ventures for Rob who
since the late 1970s has owned and
operated several small businesses
after obtaining his designation as a
chartered accountant.
Following a stint at Price Waterhouse
and in the world of investments
at Richardson Securities (now part
of RBC Dominion Securities), he
partnered with another local business Incubator helping other
leader, Carl Furtado, in 1998 to create
Roseview Capital Consultants – the
name ‘Roseview’ inspired by a street businesses grow
on which they once owned an office.

stage businesses by introducing angel
investors to business opportunities”, ROB DOUGLAS, ROSEVIEW GLOBAL INCUBATOR
