As a youngster growing up in Galt
Mike Lauzon quickly learned the
value of hard work thanks to his
part time job as a daily newspaper
carrier as a kid, and later as a teen
working an evening shift at Swiss
Chalet.
“I’ve worked my whole life, since I was
nine-years-old,” says the owner of Better
Windows & Doors, reminiscing about
the path that led him to taking over the
business approximately five years ago.
“I was always happy to be a worker. And
while I think I’m quite capable of doing
this, I’m not really business minded.”
But that doesn’t appear to be the case
considering the success Better Windows
& Doors continues to experience under
his ownership, which includes the
recent creation a new 3,000 square foot
showroom in two former storefronts
in the Pinebush Road building the
company has occupied since 2013.
Founded by the late Gary Nymeyer
whose previous managerial role at Pro-
Certified - a former windows and doors
business that had been located in the
same building - ignited his interest in
this industry, Better Windows & Doors
continues to provide customers with
more than 30 years of experience and
quality service.
“Not much has changed as far as our
processes and the way we do business,
everything we do still revolves around
our customers,” says Mike, who gained
experience in the sector as a teen
working several years for Pro-Certified
before catching the ‘travelling bug’.
His desire to see the world took him all
over Asia, Europe, and South America,
before he returned to Cambridge in
2016 and began working for Gary at
Better Windows & Doors. Four years
