Honoring resources also means respecting that the flow of abundance isn't necessarily predictable and isn't always completely in your control. It's not forever streaming toward you and into you at full force. Sometimes the flow is a trickle or is even moving away from you. It could be because you're experiencing negative feelings that are blocking you, but it may be that you're not the only creative force in the Universe. Stuff happens, as they say.
The other day I discovered that my lawn was infested with bugs, and when I asked the neighbor's gardener what he thought we ought to do to get rid of them, he said that we should tear up our entire lawn and reseed. That solution would cost thousands of dollars. My husband, Denis, became upset because we spend money on regular lawn care and even so are having problems that might cost us a lot. I reminded him that there's no value in harboring negative feelings about this challenge. By creating a sense of faith, abundance, and curiosity, we came up with the idea to call our lawn-care service and ask for advice. They told us that our service contract guarantees that they'll solve any insect-infestation problems, so we don't have to spend any money after all. This was a possibility that we didn't think of at first. We were blind to a resource we already had-a legal guarantee provided by our service.
Then, too, all of us interact with each other and influence one another's flow of abundance to some degree, and yours may lessen or reverse directions because of forces outside of your control that are created by another person or other people. When the stock market shifts downward and the interest rates go up because of situations you have no influence over, acknowledge and make use of the power you do have: that of your positive emotions. Create even stronger feelings of faith and abundance. Open your eyes to the resources and opportunities you've been overlooking and make the most of them. Remember that even during the Great Depression and in times of recession, there has been a flow of abundance, and some people were quite prosperous. Nurture the abundance you have right now and let go of your attachment to the abundance that has flowed away from you.
