VIOLENCE IN THE WORKFORCE
In keeping with the spirit and intent of this policy and to ensure BMH’s objectives in this regard are attained, BMH is committed to the following:
1.Providing a safe and healthy work environment, in accordance with BMH’s policy on safety and health;
2.Taking prompt remedial action up to and including immediate termination against any employee who engages in any threatening behavior or acts of violence or who uses any obscene, abusive, or threatening language or gestures;
3.Taking appropriate action when dealing with customers, vendors, former employees, patients or visitors to BMH’s facility who engage in such behavior. Such action may include notifying the police or other law enforcement personnel and prosecuting violators of this policy to the maximum extent of the law;
4.Establishing viable security measures to ensure that BMH’s facility is safe and secure to the maximum extent possible and for properly dealing with access to BMH facility by the public, off-duty employees, and former employees.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
In accordance with the National Electrical Code, anything brought into the hospital must go though the user safety checks. Both the visual and operational safety checks may be done at each shift change, before surgery, after an emergency, during the slack period, or at some convenient time, depending on the type of equipment.
