Congratulations! Pregnancy can
be the most exciting and memorable experience of your life.
We’re excited you have chosen Grove Creek Medical Center, and we look forward to welcoming your precious child into the world.
Our goal is to ensure you and your baby start out in the healthiest possible way. We want your entire birth experience, from
your first prenatal appointment to driving your baby home from the hospital, to be pleasant and memorable. We have found that women who are more informed about what to expect tend to enjoy their pregnancy more and are prepared for the birthing experience.
Pregnancy is measured in weeks and trimesters. Your due date will be around 40 weeks from the beginning of your last menstrual period, and each trimester is marked by specific stages of fetal development. Each trimester of pregnancy brings about new symptoms, new emotions, new concerns, and new requirements for medical care.
Let’s explore what you can expect during your first trimester—conception to 14 weeks—so you know what’s heading your way.
