  THE STAGES OF FETAL DEVELOPMENT
While the fetus at the end of three months is only about 4 inches long and weighs less than one ounce, all of its functions have begun to form—major organs, nervous system, heartbeat, arms, fingers, legs, toes, hair, and buds for future teeth.
Testing
During pregnancy, certain lab tests are completed on all women. Depending on your health history, and the results of routine tests, you may be required to have additional testing as a precaution. There are several kinds of genetic testing that can be completed during the first trimester, which your doctor will discuss with you.
