The First Trimester
The first trimester is conception to 14 weeks and is considered the most critical time in your pregnancy. Patients are usually seen every four weeks, and patients with special situations may be seen more frequently.
In the first three months, a woman’s body goes through many changes. These changes often cause a variety of symptoms, including nausea, fatigue, breast tenderness, frequent urination, emotional fluctuations, sensitivity to smells, food aversions, and cravings.
Although more than half of pregnant women experience morning sickness, in most cases,
it stops around the 14th week of pregnancy. But morning sickness isn’t the only thing to watch. A common serious finding at this stage is spotting or bleeding. If you experience any bleeding in the first trimester, please contact your doctor as this can be a sign of miscarriage.
