The Cultures in Ecuador According to Each Region.

Ecuador is a small country in South America. It has three main ethnic groups.
Ecuador was a Spanish colony since Cristobel Colon came, so most Ecuadorians speak
in Spanish but there are also other maternal languages such as: Kitchua and Shuar,
(these languages are from Sierra and Amazon Region). Even though, Ecuador has many
different ethnic groups and cultures there are some aspects which all Ecuadorians have
in common. They preserve its typical food, they celebrate traditional holidays and
families are important for them.

One of the aspects which Ecuadorians preserve is its traditional food. Ecuador
has three regions: Coast, Sierra and Amazon regions. Each of these regions has its own
typical dishes. For example, in the Coast Region people can find seafood and special
dishes like "Encebollado". On the other hand, Sierra and Amazon region offer some
weird and exotic dishes such as: Yahuarlocro, roast snake, ants, etc.

Another aspect that Ecuadorians preserve is their holidays. First of all, in the
Coast region people celebrate "Pasillo's day" that is celebrated in honor of Julio
Jaramillo. Nevertheless in Sierra and Amazon region there are some popular holidays.
For instance, "Guaranda's Carnival" it is one of the most famous carnival because of
the rules to play with everything that they consider useful.

In Ecuador family is so important. Despite in Coast Region almost there are not
completed families in Sierra and Amazon Region preserve the value of the family.
They preserve the value to be together and get married a man with a woman.

To sum up, Ecuador has many different cultures and ethnic groups which preserve
some common things such as: traditional food, holidays and the family's value. While
many countries want to be industrialized Ecuador preserve its beauty with its own
tradition, culture, and ethnics.
