We see this in athletic games. One team seems to emerge, and we often say the team has

gained the momentum. Even the announcers will say it, too. You can feel the shift as well as see
it. This shift pumps up everyone on the team. We may see the momentum shift more than once

during a game. So, how does a team keep the momentum? What do you do to keep your
momentum going? What happens when your momentum shifts away to someone or something

else? How do you get your momentum back?

An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion.

Would it not be great to know where you want to go and then to gain some momentum

getting there? And then to keep the momentum going? Some people seem to have it all, right?
But what is different about them, from you? When they hit a speed bump, do they stop or keep

going? Mary, in our story, hit a speed bump when she took the first step – she was jerked
backwards. Mary didn’t give up, though. She was determined. She felt invincible, unstoppable.

You can, too. Once your momentum gets going, the next step is easier to take, and then the next,

and so on. Before you know it, your steps are in sync with each other and with your end goal in
mind. There are steps you can take to gain your momentum.
