Thedeve10pmentofcryopreservationtechniquehasatractedspecia1atentionfromwhominterestedinfod s h o r t a g e a n d b i o 1 o g i c a 1 p r e s e r v a t i o n . A s b e i n g w e l l - k n o w n , it is s a i d t h a t t h e d r e a m o f c r y o p r e s e r v a t i o n techniquekepsalivingthingalivewithoutformingicecrysta1underso10wtemperaturethatanybacteria canotbeactive.Thismeansthatsuperco1ingstatemustbekeptundermuch10wertempera加 rethanfrezing poin.tHowever,becausemostofbiomateria1containsa10tofwaterandsuperco1ingisunstab1e,itisextreme1y dificu1ttorearchthedreamofcryopreservationtechniquetobiomateria.lOntheotherhand,itissaidthatcel 1eadstodeathattheOCUlTenceofintracelu1arfrezing.Therefore,thenewtechniquetogive1esdamagetocel isdesired;thatis,thetechniqueistomaintainsupercolingstateundereven10wertemperatureandtomakeice crysta1finer.Thisresearchwasperformedtofindouttheposibi1ityofreductiontechniqueofdamagetocel duetoiceClγsta1anddiscusedfi'omtheviewpointsoftemperatureatthere1easeofsuperco1ingandthe deformationatOCUlTenceofintracel1u1arfi'ezing.P1antwasusedforalivingthing.Microelectricalcurent was10adedtop1anttisue.Figure1showstherelationshipbetwenelectriccurentandthecel1deformationat ocunenceofintracelularfi'ezing.Figure2showstheefectofe1ectriccunentonthedegreofsuperco1ing (=frezingpointofwater-temperatureatthereleaseofsupercoling).Thebothfigurestel1thatthereisthe posibilityofreducingdamagetocel1by10adingmicroelectriccunenttocel.l
