discusedtheanothermeasureinsteadofNDVI.Asaresult,furtherdeepinspectionfoundthattherewasthe characteristicchangeofdistributioninwavelengthof500nmand640nm.Thatis;normalizedreflectance increasesfrom500mto550nmanddecreaseswithincreaseofwavelengthbeyond550nmto640nmforthe lightdamage(shortexposure).However,fortheheavydamage,reflectancedoesn'tdecreaseandreversely increasegradualybeyond550nmto640nm.Thistendencywassenineveryplantleafwemeasured. Therefore,weproposednewindextakinguseofthisabovecharacteristicsinspectrumdistribution.Wenoticed twocharacteristicwavelengthsof550t0560(Gren,G inFig.(a)and615to625nm(Red,RinFig.(a). NewindexwasdefinedasthefolowsandwasnamedNCRI.

FromFig.(c),NCRIseemstodecreaseswithincreaseofleafdamageandtocorespondleafdamage.From theseresults,itwassenthatNCRIhastheposibilityofmeasuringleafdamagequalitativelyasidefrom quantitatively.Further,wediscusedthevalidityofNCRIinthefolowing.
