 YACHATZ – BREAKING THE MATZAH
Breaking the Matzah is one of many ritual acts that turn the food of the Seder into a symbol of meaning.
There are three pieces of matzah on the plate. The top matzah is for the usual blessing over bread. The bottom matzah is for the Hillel sandwich made with matzah, maror and charoset eaten later in the seder.
The middle matzah is broken in two for a dual purpose: the bigger portion is to be hidden for the “afikoman” (or “Afi -koy-man” in Zadie speak) and eaten when retrieved from the children for dessert. It will be the last taste of food at the Seder. The smaller piece is returned to the plate.
THE SEARCH FOR THE AFIKOMAN

The Afikoman helps us to remember “what seems lost may be recovered. What seems broken may be repaired.” Today we still hunt for treasures hiding inside and around us: freedom, peace, kindness, hope and health.
The Afikoman will be hidden in this bag made by Lauren at age 7.
Stress Eating is Causing People to Put On the “Covid-19 Pounds”
Have you heard the expression, "Freshman 15"? It refers to the 15 pounds (7kilograms) of weight college freshmen typically gain from stress eating during their first year of college.
You might be hearing about the "COVID 19," which refers to the almost 20 pounds (9kilograms) many of us are going to gain from stress eating while confined to our homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On social media, people are reporting plowing through the food they have stockpiled and hoped would last for months, in just days. If anybody wants to know, I have not bought any double-stuffer oreos....yet.
In a March 20, 2020 article, Nielsen Market Research disclosed to MSN Money that Americans are stocking up on more than just toilet paper, they're also buying chocolate candy, ice cream, potato chips, popcorn, and pastries.
