All told, the NRCC IE spent $81 million in 35 districts for the general election, the largest IE budget since 2006. The IE invested in 18 offensive districts and 17 defensive seats, with $40 million spent on paid media for offense and $29 million spent on defense.
As a result of the NRCC’s strategic paid media investments, to date the NRCC IE won 86% of the districts we invested in.
Altogether, we launched:
• 142TVads
(6 Spanish-Language Ads)
• 134 Unique Digital Ads
• 135 Unique Websites
• 15 Radio and/or Digital Audio Ads
(4 Spanish-Language Ads)
The IE also conducted:
• 137 Surveys
• 5 TV Shoots for 8 unique ads
Where did we run the most ads?
• CA21, IA02, NE02, NM02, NY24
What were the most expensive races? • FL26, NM02, CA25, TX23
On average, we spent $2.3 million/race.
Without these advertising dollars our candidates would have been drastically outspent by both their Democrat challengers but also Democrat third-party groups. Of
the 35 districts in which the NRCC
IE invested, 29 of our Republican candidates were at a fundraising disadvantage going into the summer of 2020.
