Senior Downsizing Does Not Have to Be Devastating!!
As a Senior Real Estate Specialist, I meet with Individuals and families in Brevard County on a regu- lar basis. The names and property locations vary but the stories are almost always the same!! The majority of Baby Boomers and Seniors start to think about downsizing when their nances, health or personal situation changes.
No one wants to have a discussion about what getting older might mean in terms of lifestyle chang- es, but downsizing does not have to develop into a discussion about the gradual loss of independence associated with aging.
Face, it, all of us want to keep our indepen- dence. We do not want to rely on family, friends or outside services to assist us.... We want to continue to live the way we always have, until something happens and then all your loved ones or other peo- ple are telling you what to do!! Does this sound fa- miliar???
You know it makes more sense to make the deci- sions yourself NOW instead of waiting too long and
having other people tell you what to do.
So, think about what is holding you back from
downsizing!! You have options!!
The #1 question we get is; How do I pack up
a lifetime of belongings and move?? That is an amazing question considering all of the other fac- tors involved in a lifestyle change.! Is the thought of packing holding you back from the next wonderful chapter of life?? Do not be in denial about having to make a change, yes, it is emotional but if you wait too long, everyone but you will be making a deci- sion on your life...
Make the decision now while you still can, in- stead of someone else making it for you!!
You have lived long enough to understand that making a change take courage, but think about the freedom of more indepence not less. THINK RIGHT-SIZING...
