college Nagpur. She has
been an active social
activist and utilizes
cultural programs as a
means to spread
awareness. Apart from
© SSBCRACK her enthusiastic
participation in various
cultural activities and
sports, the lady is an
accomplished scholar
awarded with various
scholarships. Smriti put
forward the idea of
showcasing “Apathy towards Strangers” by means of a NUKKAD, street play.
In her opinion this was a growing issue in the community where bystanders
refuse to offer help to any suffering stranger with fear of legal formalities. The
management and the cultural committee applauded and instructed Smriti to
make a very proper arrangement. She took lead of the responsibilities,
groomed the juniors and made them perform on an act where a lady has been
robbed and the bystander is ignoring and walking away. This act earned the
highest appreciation on the event day and earned media attention as the
higher dignitaries and government officials appreciated the motive. It was a
proud moment for the lady as well as for the college.
