Sheet Bend
The bend knot most often used by sailors is still the sheet bend and all of its
derivations (double sheet bend, triple, Y-shaped, or updated), especially when
the two ropes are of different diameters.
It was initially created to regulate tension on sheets.
This use gave it its name, even if today it is used for other applications.
