on the core process of learning in Dulwich Prep, so that student learning is strengthened and educational outcomes are improved. The project will drive the implementation of teaching and leadership practices that have the biggest impact on students’ learning.
We will support Dulwich Prep colleagues
to focus on three main areas of pedagogy: how to provide effective feedback; how to ensure successful dialogue between teachers and students; and how to encourage growth mindset throughout the school. Effective feedback creates a strong culture of teacher- student relational trust and can double
the amount of progress a student makes. Successful dialogue is aimed at deepening learning by promoting a philosophical enquiry approach.Working with growth mindset
puts a focus on learning progress in order to improve outcomes for all pupils.
We will provide support across each level
of the school system - to leaders, in-school coaches, teachers and parents. By working across all levels, we aim to develop a common learning culture and understanding of what effective learning looks like. Our experience tells us that real success in school development requires a shift in the learning culture. This takes time to do well, which is why the partnership between Dulwich Prep and Challenging Learning will take place over three years.
The support that we will provide to teachers will focus on practical tools and strategies that improve pedagogy in classrooms. We will also support leaders and coaches, so they can lead organisational change and create the culture that puts challenge and effective learning at the heart of your child’s learning at Dulwich Prep London.
Richard and the team look forward to meeting parents in the coming year and sharing the impact of the Challenging Learning process. We will host a special parents’ meeting in the 2019 summer term, where you can come along and hear more about the rst year of the project and what to expect in the future. Meanwhile, if you are interested in nding out more about the work we do with schools and municipalities, we invite you to look at our website: www.challenginglearning. com where you can nd information about our company and the work we do nationally and globally.
