Module 2: Getting Ready for Writing
Learning Objectives for Module 2:
Handwriting relies on the effective development of pre-writing motor, visual and thinking skills. Whilst this is typically associated with young children, it is often an area which requires strengthening or practising in children if they need more time to learn to write.
In this section you will notice that the activities are organises into three areas: Motor, Visual and Thinking. All the activities are designed for interaction and play so the children can explore, have a go and apply the knowledge they have learnt in Module 1: Learning the Cognitive Framework.
Module 2 : Motor Activities
Within the Motor section you will find activities designed to develop pre-writing skills. These activities include drawing pre-writing shapes, tracing over and within lines and tracing over the animal starting shapes. All these activities should be completed with a stylus.
Staying in the lines presents the children with progressively harder paths to follow, staying in the lines - activities should be completed using a stylus. Push the blue arrow to reveal the next line.
