Children in Reception can now begin to learn how to write Rupert the White Sheep’s letters. You can begin to think about introducing Zac the Grey Sheep as the cousin of Rupert the White Sheep, and he is unusual and likes diagonal lines.
Objective:
Writing Rupert the White Sheep’s starting shape
Lesson Plan:
Print off page 91 in the Activities Manual or IWB224. In small groups or with a full class

“Let’s learn to form Rupert the White Sheep’s starting shape.”
“Place your pencil on Rupert the White Sheep’s head, sitting on the grass line”.
“Trace over the starting line, up to Rupert the White Sheep’s head on the helicopter line.”
Stop.
“Trace over the starting line, back to Rupert the White Sheep’s head on the grass line.” “Now have a go on the other lines.”
“When you have finished the top line have a go at drawing Rupert the White Sheep’s line on the bottom line.”
