Module 3: Learning to Write Teacher’s Guide.
Objective: Independent writing of all 8 Rupert the White Sheep letters
Lesson Plan:
In small groups, seated at a table, each child has a Write and Wipe Board (Introductory level -2 lines facing) and a suitable pen. Teacher has illustrated Rupert the White Sheep letter cards.
1. Shuffle the cards and place the cards face down in a fan shape.
2. Ask each child to pick a card.
3. The child then turns over the card and looks at the letter.
4. The child then has a go at writing the letter on the Write and Wipe Board.
5. The cards then get put back together and the child picks another letter.
More to Learn:
Ensure the children get to try out all the letters in the session.
Support:
For those children that find motor control difficult allow them to use the larger sized Write and Wipe Board, or facilitate with hand over hand.
