How to Choose the Best Terminal Block for Your Application

We all know that downtime directly impacts the bottom line. Reliable wiring connections are key to ensuring that products, processes, and systems run smoothly with minimal downtime due to required maintenance or system failures. There are several different connection technologies that can be used to establish reliable wiring connections on PCBs, and in control cabinets or other electrical enclosures. One of the most popular connectivity solutions for industrial applications is terminal block technology.
Terminal blocks are available in a variety of actuation styles that come with distinct advantages and limitations. Variables such as space, wire type, and application requirements may dictate the type of terminal block that can be specified. However, in situations where the application is wide open and the designer is free to evaluate which connection technology and actuation style is best, the determination can be made more easily and accurately with a complete understanding of the benefits and limits of each option.
