Mittens for Memories
Beaver Falls, PA. This past year was a block buster year for
Mittens for Memories! Each Tuesday a group of 3-7 meet to sew
woolen mittens with approximately 500 mittens made in 2024.
Other friends and family worked in their own homes tracing, cutting
and trimming mittens and sewing liners. We have now introduced
this mission to our grandchildren, who assist with the sewing and
at craft shows—they love being involved! Starting in September
husbands and brothers get to work dragging everything to various
craft shows across the area. They built a creative display and help
at the shows. After approximately seven craft shows, we profited
enough to donate $10,000. to the Alzheimer’s Association, in Sewickley Fall Fest in September—a very nice day in the

to Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital! We have been thrilled with the
support we receive from the community, friends and many others
who are happy to support causes near and dear to our hearts.
We are especially thankful for the support of the GCU GoGive
program—thank you a million times! The funds the program
provided helped supply us with the wool sweaters and fleece to
make the mittens! Thank you for your generosity.

Welcome Bags for
Ronald McDonald House
Dunmore, PA. Our story began in January 2019 when
the unexpected early birth of our grandson happened
while Mom, from Pittsburgh, was on a business trip in
Chicago. Ronald McDonald House, in Chicago, was our
son’s and his wife’s home for nearly three months. The
RMH location provided them with easy access to the
hospital where their newborn son was being nurtured
to become strong enough to return home to Pittsburgh.
Annually my family and friends pick a large project to
pay it forward to show our gratitude for the love and
support provided by RMH to our son and his wife while
in Chicago, during a very scary and stressful time. With
the generous assistance of the GCU GoGive program
and donations from family and friends, we purchased
suggested items by Ronald McDonald House to put
together 80 welcome bags. The bags will be given to
families on their arrival at RMH. For more information,
