Parish Holy Supper with Lessons and Carols
St. Michael Parish held its Annual Holy Supper
with Lessons and Carols after Divine Liturgy
on Sunday, December 22. The parishioners
are invited to partake of this holy tradition as
brothers and sisters in Christ eating a fasting
meal of non-meat, non-dairy and non-eggs as
they do in their homes on Christmas Eve. Pastor
Fr. Joseph Raptosh prepared the main course
of linguine with clam sauce and salad, and the
parishioners brought the sides. The dessert
was Fr. Joseph’s Lenten chocolate cranberry cake. The meal with
wine toast, honey and garlic was followed by scripture lessons
and singing. To share and extend this spiritual tradition with all
the workers of the parish, bottles of
wine were purchased for their Holy
Christmas Eve Suppers. With gratitude
for the GCU Parish Social Program,
Fr. Joseph and the parish extend their
thanks for the generosity of the GCU.

Cheesefare Luncheon
St. Andrew Church held a Cheesefare luncheon on Sunday, March
2. Parishioners enjoyed a very nice luncheon with the assistance
of the GCU Parish Social Program. Tuna fish sandwiches, eggplant
parmigiana and salad, were some of the foods served. We were
lucky to have Bohdau Budash, son of Fr. Budash of Resurrection
Church in Long Island, cantoring the Liturgy and Vespers. Bohdau
is an excellent singer with a strong voice and knows the songs for
the Liturgy. We were blessed to have him and his mother Natalia
drive to St. Andrew while
our cantor is not available.
It was a nice time to spend
before Lent.
