Communion Breakfast
The annual Communion Breakfast was held on Sunday,
March 2 following Divine Liturgy. The breakfast was
attended by 35 people. The GCU Parish Social Grant
provided funding for the event. At the completion of
breakfast parishioners returned to church to pray the
Forgiveness Vespers before the start of Lent.

Cheesefare Sunday
Cheesefare Sunday was celebrated on Sunday, March
2 at St. Nicholas Church. Vespers were held, followed
by dinner for the parishioners and guests in the social
hall courtesy of the GCU Parish Social Grant.

Booklets Printed
For over 50 years, Christ
the King Holy Name Society
sponsored services during
Lent at six Byzantine
Catholic Churches in the
Hazleton, PA area. The
booklets they used at these
services were tattered and
falling apart. Thanks to
the GCU Social Grant program, Ss. Peter & Paul Church in
Beaver Meadows was able to purchase 150 Lenten Prayer Service
new booklets for the people to use at these six Every year the Christ the King District
Byzantine churches. Holy Name Society visits the Byzantine
Catholic Churches in the Hazleton, PA
area on Sundays during the Lenten
season. On March 16 they visited
Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Beaver
Meadows. Thanks to the GCU Parish
Social Grant for providing refreshments
which were served after the service.
