PHARMACY BOX: OSPREY POWERBOAT RESCUE TEAM

If compelling reasons for others. Charge for Any Drug or Inhaler @ £7.50 or 15 Euros/Item.
Check if recipient has any allergies/drug intolerance BEFORE dispensing/using.
DIABETIC LOW BLOOD SUGAR
GLUCOSE GEL
Give one into mouth to be swallowed; repeat 5 minutes if some improvement; then given food and
drink.
PAIN KILLERS
PARACETAMOL: tabs 500mg take x2 at 4 hour intervals – moderate pain/headache
DICLOFENAC: tabs 50mg enteric take x1 at 8 hour intervals with food - (NOT if indigestion).
CO-CODAMOL: tabs 30/500 take x2 at 6 hour intervals - (NOT if also on Paracetamol)
(Strong painkiller – may cause drowsiness)
DICLOFENAC suppository 100mgone up-the-bum each 18 hours (not with Diclofenac tabs) good
for severe pain eg kidney stone coliC – may cause stomach ulcers
ANTIBIOTICS
CIPROFLOXACIN tabs 250mg x1 at 8 hour intervals for 5 days for severe infection.
PENICILLIN VK Tabs 250mg x1 at 6 hour interval for tonsillitis – continue 10days.
DOXYCYCLINE CAPS 100mg x1 day for sinus/chest infection; x2/week to prevent Weil’s
disease (flu like illness and jaundice).
INDIGESTION
GAVISCON CHEWABLE Tabs x1 after food or on empty stomach for heartburn/indigestion
LANZOPRAZOLE Tabs 15mg x1 daily for serious indigestion
EYE TROUBLE
SALINE EYE-WASH AMPOULES to irrigate eye for grit etc
FUSIDIC ACID EYE 1% Drops for conjunctivitis only; use x1 drop to eye twice each day: CAUTION
– get medical advice if fails to settle overnight.
ANTI-DIARRHOEA.
LOPERAMIDE Tabs 2mg take x2 - then x1 for each loose poo; maximum 8/day.
REHYDRATION.
DIORALYTE SACHETS add x1 to 200ml clean water; sip at regular intervals (no dose limitation)
