Investing in a wide variety of programs throughout North Central Massachusetts
Narragansett Historical Society
Awarded $7,350 to complete the Grange hall project by updating the insulation and sheet rocking along with upgrading the electrical with fixtures and lights. This phase of the project will not be covered in CPC funds.
NewVue Communities, Inc.
Awarded $8,350 to continue pre-development work on the Fitchburg Arts Community project, a community of mixed-income
rental artist live/work space currently being developed on a campus of three vacant buildings adjacent to the Art Museum in downtown Fitchburg.
Restoration Recovery Center Inc.
Awarded $20,000 to provide peer support recovery services in a community center to be located in Fitchburg.
Wade Institute for Science Education
Awarded $5,000 to fund a week long Summer Professional Development in partnership with Beyond Benign, FSU, the Revolving Museum and Harvard Forest for middle and high school teachers to improve skills in inquiry-based teaching and knowledge about sustainable solutions for the environmental challenges.
GENERAL ENDOWMENT FUND
Center for Women & Enterprise
Awarded $15,000 to provide 24 female entrepreneurs with more than thirty hours each of entrepreneurial training and follow-up support services to build their financial capability, start new business & strengthen the economy in North Central Massachusetts.
Community Legal Aid
Awarded $8,000 to support a program
that will engage in community outreach and provide know-the-law trainings for the region’s service providers and residents to increase awareness of the civil legal services available to the area’s most vulnerable, at- risk individuals and families.
Heart of New England Council, Inc. Boy Scouts of America
Awarded $12,000 to support “Scout Reach”, a program that provides the Boy Scout program to youth groups that otherwise would not have the means to participate in the traditional program.
Indian Hill Music
Awarded $8,000 to support partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fitchburg and Leominster (BGCFL): Summer and After-school Ukulele Classes and Jams instrumental lessons.
Montachusett Veterans
Outreach Center
Awarded $7,481 to updating the internet service at two of the veteran congregate housing facilities and upgrading the computer equipment for staff and low- income residents to include 6 desktop and 3 laptop computers.
