Before coming to the United States, Ana-Maria won numerous
competitions and made appearances on radio and TV, including
the Orpheus Competition, the Interpretation Competition,
and “Musicians Today and Tomorrow.” She also made a notable
appearance on WGBH after arriving in the United States.
During her undergraduate studies at Longy, Ana-Maria won the
Concerto Competition, performing as a soloist in the Bruch Violin
Concerto. In 2005, Ana-Maria earned a Master’s in Violin Performing
from Longy School of Music, studying under Malcolm Lowe, who
was the concertmaster of the Boston Symphony at the time. She
has performed recitals in Romania and the United States, including
Carnegie Hall in New York. Along with the Plymouth Philharmonic
Orchestra, she is a member of the Lexington Symphony Orchestra,
Symphony New Hampshire, and Vista Philharmonic.
Ana-Maria is a dedicated music teacher, sharing her expertise as a
faculty member at Cushing Academy, Hopkinton High School, and
Wellesley Public School.
In her spare time, Ana-Maria enjoys gardening, taking walks, and
playing tennis with her husband Ian and tennis-champion daughter
Emilie. She has three cats, Apollo, Sapphire, and Ari.
