The Plymouth Area Coalition for the
Homeless was established in 1985 by a
group of concerned residents who were
concerned about homelessness in our
community. Guided by a dedication
to social justice and compassion,
the Coalition strives to nurture and
empower families and individuals
seeking basic needs assistance by
providing them shelter, food, and the
educational resources necessary to
reach their potential and independence.
Since 1985, the Plymouth Area Coalition
has grown its services in size and
scope. Today, Plymouth Area Coalition
programs include two shelters for
homeless families, a Food Pantry
serving the Greater Plymouth Area, the
Children’s Holiday Fund, the Empower
‘me’ ent educational program, the
FAIR (Family and Individual Resource)
Program, and A Voice in the Night
(24/7 Resource Referral). A new 26 unit
Family Shelter will open in Plymouth in
2025.
Thousands of individuals continue to
benefit from Plymouth Area Coalition
programs; this would not be possible
if not for the compassion, caring,
volunteerism, and the generosity of
spirit and resources demonstrated
by Plymouth and our neighbors
throughout the South Shore.
