South Shore Conservatory Youth Orchestra

The South Shore Conservatory Youth Orchestra (SSCYO)
is a program of the South Shore Conservatory, in partnership
with the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra since its inception in
2007. Under the direction of Elijah Langille, SSCYO Program
Director & Principal Conductor, the SSCYO is an auditioned,
sequential youth orchestra program that provides an opportunity
BASS for dedicated young musicians in grades 4 through college a place
Wesley Zuckerman, Duxbury to perform symphonic music at a high level in a well-organized and supportive full
orchestra program. SSCYO offers ensembles at three levels: Harmony (beginning),
FLUTE Repertory (intermediate) and Symphony (advanced). Committed to fostering

Jesse DeLeo, Milton Artistic Advisor Steven Karidoyanes works with students and hosts a biennial side-

Elijah Langille
CLARINET Elijah Langille is the conductor of the Tutti Music
Victoria Martin, Plymouth Collective, which is dedicated to supporting music
Eve Piazza, Duxbury making that reflects the communities it operates in,
Ari Davis, Norwell particularly underrepresented groups in classical music,

including women, people of color, and those in the
TROMBONE LGBTQIA+ community. In addition, he is the Assistant/
Liam Cahill, Marshfield Cover Conductor of the Evenings Under the Stars
Orchestra in Hingham, providing engaging and innovative
PERCUSSION programming for summertime audiences. In addition,
Noel Eigenmann, Hingham he frequently travels to Germany and the Czech Republic to study with notable
Grant Butterworth, Norwell conductors, conducting the Moravian Philharmonic in 2019 and 2020 and the
James Conner, Kingston Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023.
Daniel Freedman, Hanover Elijah is also an avid educator and conductor throughout Massachusetts, currently

directing the Orchestra program at Barnstable High School and Program Director
TIMPANI and Principal Conductor of the South Shore Conservatory Youth Orchestras. He
Julian Davis, Norwell is a graduate of Gordon College and Boston University, where he focused on the
consequences of power and oppression within the orchestra. His research identified
*Faculty proactive ways of including learners of all abilities, backgrounds, and cultures
within a praxial music classroom.

Elijah sang with the Tanglewood Festival Choir, performing at Boston’s Symphony
Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Koussevitzky Music Shed, under prominent
conductors Andris Nelsons and Keith Lockhart, among others. As the organist of
Christ Church Parish, Plymouth, he oversees instrumental activities.
