SHORT FILM
MAKING
COMPETITION
(GR.11-12)
Filmmaking is a powerful medium for self-expression. Short film
making competitions are great for encouraging youngsters to
exercise their creativity, artistry and at the same time create
films that inspire and emotionally touch audiences.
The short film making competition was conducted for GIHS young
amateur filmmakers of grade 11 & 12, who were required to make
Short Films with maximum duration of 3 minutes based on the theme
of ‘Year of Tolerance’ to showcase the relevance of
the messages in the 21st century.
The short films that were documented explored all facets of
student interest, from narrative to documentary, as well as live
action.
The competition provided students a unique platform to showcase
their creative talent and skill in short film making. It abetted the
students to learn how to pick up the camera and reach a wider
audience with the goal of highlighting UAE as a global capital for
tolerance, and emphasizing tolerance as a universal concept aimed
at entrenching the values of tolerance, dialogue, coexistence and
openness to different cultures.
