INTER HOUSE COMPETITION
(Morning Session)
INTER HOUSE MIME
Mime is an art or a technique of portraying a character, mood, COMPETITION
idea, or narration by gestures and bodily movements. An Inter-
House Mime competition on the theme 'Social Issues and
Awareness' was organised on 19 September 2019 for students GRADE 9-10
th
of grade 9 & 10 in the School Main Hall.
The theme was based on social issues like ‘Ageism is the new
racism’ (Grade 9-Emerald House), ‘Acid attack’ (Grade 10-
Emerald House), ‘Bullying’ (Grade 9-Ruby House)‘, ‘Mobile
Abuse’ (Grade 10-Ruby House), ‘Transgender Equality’ (Grade
9-Sapphire House), ‘Influence of mobile phones and social media
on lives’ (Grade 10-Sapphire House), ‘Save the girl child and
child labour’ (Grade 9-Topaz House) and ‘Say NO to plastics’
(Grade 10-Topaz House).
Participants depicted all themes with their brilliant gestures
and body movements. The audience was sometimes into
laughter and at the same time getting emotional to see such
sensitive issues being portrayed with such ease and conviction
by the students.
The competition was adjudged under the criteria of innovation,
depiction of the situation, expression, teamwork and overall
effect.
The four teams performed wonderfully well and spellbound the
audience with their performance. Overall it was a great show
as each team tried their level best to leave the impact on the
audience making them aware of the social issues existing in our
society.
