REPORT ON UAE NATIONAL DAY & COMMEMORATION DAY

As UAE celebrated its 47 National Day on 2nd December 2018, Kindergarten students
of Gulf Indian High School joined the nation enthusiastically to celebrate it in the
th
campus on 28 Nov 2018.The entire campus was beautifully decorated with colours of
UAE flag. Students participated in the UAE human flag formation as part of their
appreciation for the UAE National Day. The students clapped and swayed to the music,
waving the flag and saluting the UAE. Students were dressed in the traditional Arab
attire portraying the colors of the UAE flag.
Students from KG 1 and prep conducted a special assembly to celebrate the UAE
National Day.
The assembly began with the recitation of a few verses from the holy Quran followed by
the school prayer and national anthem.
There were melodious songs and to demonstrate the culture and heritage of UAE,
children performed a wonderful Bedouin folk dance with theme’ Tolerance ‘to depict
the international culture of UAE followed by a quiz program based on the theme UAE.
To create awareness about emirates and its history, the children were enlightened
about the significance of the UAE National Day, ‘The Spirit of the Union’ and the
progress of UAE by the kindergarten supervisor Mrs. Deepa John. The excitement was
not only limited to the actual events but was also transferred to the discussions and
conversations within the classrooms.
The formal ceremony ended with the Principal’s message which emphasized on the
need for all students and staff to be respectful to UAE’s culture and heritage and to
contribute to UAE's overall growth.
Commemoration Day: On 29th November GIHS kindergartners remembered soldiers
and policemen who sacrificed their life for their country. Assembly started with silent
prayer. Some children came in uniform of soldiers and policemen. They explained their
role and responsibility towards the country. Programme ended with UAE national
anthem.
