Old Photographs Wanted: School Days, Cobh & Great Island
People of Cobh and Great Island, Sirius Arts Centre are interested in seeing your old school
photographs.
The photographs and any associated information will form part of an archive and exhibition on
display at Sirius from May until July 2019. The exhibition will open on 2nd of May in conjunc-
tion with This Must Be The Place | The Great Island (2nd-12th May) and See You Tomorrow a
project and exhibition by Elizabeth Woods and Kevin Leong.
Did you go to a school in Cobh or elsewhere on Great Island? Do you have any class photos,
individual portraits, sports day photos, snapshots from the school play or something more
unusual? Perhaps you have school photos featuring your parents, grandparents or great grand-
parents or any other relatives? Did you go to school in the former yacht club, currently Sirius
Arts Centre?
This call-out is mainly aimed at those who are no longer at school and in possession of trea-
sured old photographs from bygone eras. This can be anytime from the mid 19th Century right
up to the 1990s. Current and more recent school goers will be contacted separately, via their
schools, in order to bring things up to date.

4813790 with your contact details. Brian will be in touch to arrange scanning your photographs
and taking note of any associated information and stories.

Part-Time Tour Guide Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Titanic Experience Cobh for a Tour Guide
to work in our visitor centre which encompasses the history and its connection to
Cobh.
This opportunity requires the selected candidate to be available WEEK DAYS mostly
and/or week-ends and be flexible with working hours.
The successful candidate will:
Have an interest in History.
Ideally be fluent in English AND German ideally.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have enthusiasm and energy
The ability to command and speak to a group
A flexible approach to the role
