Our front cover image is taken
from Forest Resilience by alumna
and artist Victoria Watts (1982),
as one study in her exploration
of the ongoing impact of fire on
the eucalyptus woodlands of the
Mt Buangor and Mt Cole State
Forests. After graduating with
bachelor’s and master’s degrees
in Building, Vicky combined an
academic career in architecture
and building with furniture
making and then painting, for
which she has won various
prizes both for landscapes
and portraiture. In 2009
the College commissioned
Vicky for a major work (now
hanging in the front foyer)
depicting the front façade of
the College in celebration
of our 125th anniversary.
An alumna of both Trinity
College (1980) and Janet
Clarke Hall, Vicky’s
exhibition Buangor was
launched in Trinity’s
Burke Gallery in 2019.
