3.2 PRE & POST CRUISE TRAVEL
On a nationality basis, the majority of Canadian cruise passengers travel internationally to get to their departure cruise port or after their cruise has finished:
 American (US): 48% depart from a domestic port, 52% travel internationally
 Canadian: Just 16% depart from a domestic port, with 84% travelling internationally prior
to embarking on their cruise
Given that a higher proportion of Americans began their cruise from a domestic port, it is unsurprising that a significantly higher proportion used their own car, a domestic flight or a train to reach their departure cruise port. Canadians are significantly more likely to take an international flight to their departure port, with a third of Canadians using this method of transport compared to only 1 in 10 Americans.
