SANGER HERALD 7A THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20. 2018 DASHBOARD: The Asian subgroup is the only one, with a 98.1 percent graduation rate, in the blue.
Continued from page 1A
The new Dashboard, much like CDE's previous online digital attempt to report on the status of student subgroups, uses colors to signify status. Blue, see the chart at the right, is good and red is not good. Green, yellow and orange are the steps between good and bad. For instance, here's how the Dashboard looks at graduation rates of student subgroups in the Sanger Unified School District. The Asian subgroup is the only one, with a 98.1 percent graduation rate, in the blue. English Learners, Hispanic, Socioeconomically Disadvantaged and White subgroups, with graduation rates in the mid 90s are all labeled "green."
None of the SUSD groups are in the "red," but Students with Disabilities and Homeless are at the lower end of the spectrum.
The Herald will have periodic reports on student performance as we become more proficient navigating the new Dashboard.
Here are a few random statistics gleaned from the first tour of the CDE's analysis of student subgroups in the Sanger Unified School District.
• Prepared for college and career: Asian, 73.8%; White, 67.7%; Socioeconomically Disadvantaged, 50.9%; Hispanic, 49.4%; Homeless, 31.8%; English Learners, 25.5%; and Students with Dis-
abilities, 12%.
• Chronic Absenteeism: Asian, 2.8%; Two or More Races, 4.7%; English Learners, 5.8%; Hispanic and Socioeconomically Disadvantaged, 8%; White, 8.1%; Homeless, 14.7%; and, Foster
Youth, 16.2%.
Our next report will take a look at how SUSD compares with state and nearby school districts. We believe, from a preliminary quick glance, you'll be very impressed with our school dis-
trict.
