This week's featured pet is "Mama," a new arrival at the shelter.
"It's obvious she's just had a litter," said volunteer coor- dinator Kim Reed. "So, we've
been calling her Mama. She's a young pitbull lady who was picked up near the
police station on 7th Street. "She's very sweet," said
Reed.
Other dogs hoping to be in
a forever home by Christmas
are:
• Bear, who is about 8
years old, a shepherd mix. He's already up to date on shots, neutered and potty trained. He prefers people to dogs.
• Adak, a silly, playful, feisty big husky puppy, who was picked up while wander- ing in the Greenwood/Holt area.
• Queenie, a 3 year old pitbull who loves water. She's up to date with shots and spayed.
• Cowboy, a 3 year old boxer/pitbull/pug mix who loves laps and hugs.

Let Mario know if you're interested in providing a temporary foster home for any of the shelter dogs or
if you are able to donate a warm blanket, doggy sweater or bed because it gets cold inside the metal building that serves as the shelter on the city yard on North Avenue.
