ICE agents make local area sweep
Sentinel staff report
Last week, word began circulating on social media that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were in town targeting illegal immigrants as they prepared to head off to work. This week the Dinuba Police Department verified in their police reports that ICE agents were in fact in town, as early as 4 a.m. Monday morning.
The Sentinel reached out to Immigration and Customs Enforcement this week for more information, however, as of time of print had not heard back from the agency.
The image on the right is a still from a video that was posted on social media last week. The video, as indicated in the post, was taken in the Cutler-Orosi area and shows two ICE agents detaining an unknown male subject.

Sentinel staff report
Ever since the California State Water Resources Control Board announced its plan to reduce water flow in the San Joaquin River last December, local farmers and Groundwater Sustainability Agencies throughout the Valley have worked adamantly to stop the proposed plan.
Now, the Kings River East GSA, which represents the water in Dinuba and surrounding areas, has released their own plan to address the difficult task of properly dispursing the Valley's main water supply.
The plan, released on Jan. 31, will be reviewed at the Kings River East GSA meeting on Feb. 21. The meeting is held monthly inside the city hall
council chambers, and will begin this month at 2 p.m.
After hearing the plan, the board, made up of local representatives, will move to adopt the plan.
The proposed state plan would redirect as much as 40 percent of the river's water to 'unimpaired flow', meaning local farmers would get far less water for the growing season. Currently, about 20 percent of the river's water is unimpaired.
Recently, the California Farm Bureau Federation filed a lawsuit in the Sacramento County Superior Court to block the state's proposed water plan. (See Page A6 for more details.)
