District Doings
• Open Gate Ministries will be holding its 44th Anniversary Dinner and Boutique on September 6. The event will be held at the Dinuba Seventh-Day Adventist Church, on the corner of Adelaide and Eaton avenues. Tickets are $12.50 and are available at the door or the Open Gate Shelter at 511 North K Street. For more information, call 591-1241.
• Soft Thunder Riders MC will be sponsoring the Western Regional Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall 5th Annual Fundraisher Run on Saturday, September 9.
The run, made up of bikers from throughout the Valley, will begin at the Visaila Harley Davidson (Goshen) and will end at the Dinuba Memorial Hall at 249 South Alta Avenue. Sign ups will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Visalia Harley Davidson, with the run starting at 10:45 a.m. A lunch, featuring barbeque chicken with fixings, will be held at the Dinuba Memorial Hall at 12:30 p.m.
Resistration fee for bikers is $25 per person and $40 per couple. Lunch for non-bikers is $10 per person.

• Dinuba Branch Library will be holding their 2nd Annual Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale on Saturday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Friends of the Dinuba Library invite you to come and browse a wide variety of books, magazines, DVDs and videos, with prices as low as 10 cents.
The sale will be held in the Friends and Community Room of the Dinuba Branch Library. For more informaiton, call 591-5829.
• The Tulare County Child Abuse Prevention Council will be presenting their 13th Annual Cynthia Lockart Mummery Conference on Thursday, November 8, at the Visalia Convention Center. This year's thems is Building Trauma-Informed Schools and Communities.
Keynote Speaker will be Jim Sporleder, a retired high school principal from Wala Wala, Washington. He was was featured in the documentary "Paper Tigers" and is the author of "The Trauma-Informed School."
