Lupe Bruno
Lupe Bruno of Clo- vis died June 13. She was 70.
Mrs. Bruno was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Mendez of Clovis; and one daughter.
Visitation and a ro- sary were held June 22 at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home. A mass will be at noon Thurs- day, June 23, at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger.

Joseph Douglas Daggett
Joseph Douglas
Daggett of Clovis died June 19. He was 41.
Mr. Daggett worked as a civil engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Traci Daggett of Clovis; one son and two daughters.
A memorial service will be at held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, at Woodward Park Church of Christ in Fresno.

Larry O'Neil Johnson
Larry O'Neil John-
son of Caruthers died June 16. He was 81.
Mr. Johnson worked as a gas technician for PG&E.
He is survived by his wife, Earlene John- son of Caruthers; one son and one daughter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thurs- day, June 23 at Wal- lin's Fowler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June
24, at Washington Col- ony Cemetery in rural Fresno.

Todd Henry Morgan
of Dinuba died June 13 in Porterville. He was
60.
Mr. Morgan was re- tired.
He is survived by one parent and one sister.
No services were scheduled. Sterling & Smith Funeral Home in Dinuba handled the arrangements.
Wanda Lee Spray
Wanda Lee Spray of Fresno died June 4 in Fresno. She was 85.
Mrs. Spray was a homemaker.
She is survived by four grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
A graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Sat- urday, June 25, at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba.

Esperanza Torres
Esperanza Torres of Chula Vista died May 29. She was 37.
Ms. Torres worked as a collections clerk.
She is survived by her parents, Esteban and Mary Torres of Fresno; four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from4to7p.m.witha wake service at 6 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Wal- lin's Parlier Funeral Home. A chapel service will be at 10 a.m. Satur- day, June 25, at Wallin's Parlier Funeral Home.

“Cheryl is my role model, my mentor, my second mom,” Nettie Niles said in a nominat- ing letter. “She has im- pacted so many lives in the City of Sanger and continues to contribute to our community. The best testimony of Cher- yl’s impact is from some of the members that have been touched by her life over the years.”
CITIZEN OF THE YEAR Pastor Gilbert Carrisalez
This year’s Citizen of the Year, Pastor Gilbert Carrisalez, founded the Tabernacle of Sanger church at the corner of North and Swan avenues in 2004 after coming to town as a troubled young man seeking to change his life. He and his wife Victoria, a Sanger na- tive, married that year and have raised their three children in Sanger.

MR. AND MRS. FARMER Rodger and Emilee Hudson
The second genera- tion of the family to be named Sanger’s Mr. and Mrs. Farmer (Earl and Liz Hudson were honored in 2009, Rod- ger (2006) and Emilee (2007) Hudson both are Sanger High graduates and were active in the Sanger Future Farmers of America Program. Emilee served as FFA president in her junior year.
The Hudson are sixth-generation Cali- fornia farmers, with the Hudson family farming in the Sanger-Del Rey- Lone Star areas since the late 1800s.
In addition to being part of Hudson Farms, the family farms inde- pendently and together south of Sanger raising peaches, plums, nectar- ines and almonds. Rod- ger also farms Manda- rins, while Emilee and her mother-in-law, Liz Hudson, run the season- al fruit stand on Acad- emy Avenue.
MOTHER OF THE YEAR Josie Rivera Lopez
Born and raised in Del Rey and a Sanger High School graduate, Josie Rivera Lopez and her childhood sweet- heart and husband, Anastacio Lopez Jr., raised three children. Oldest daughter Kay Lopez has been a nanny to more than 15 children over the past 25 years, and has been a constant companion and support to Josie in home and civic activities after the death of Anastacio 15 years ago.
After raising her children, Josie was a mi- grant teacher for a spe- cial day class for chil- dren from Mexico, and has been an active mem- ber for many years at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in choir and board mem-
