Dinuba police and fire calls for last week:
Monday, June 13
• A residential burglary was reported at 2:42 a.m. in the 1700 block of Golden Way.
• The theft of a catalytic converter was reported at 8:27 a.m. in the 2100 block of Cameron Way. • Vehicle theft from the previous night was re- ported at 12:05 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Eaton Avenue.
• The theft of a catalytic converter was reported at 1:07 p.m. in the 100 block of Arno Road.
• A non-injury hit and run traffic collision was reported at 4:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of West El Monte Way.
The Reedley Police Department handled 485 public-initiated and offi- cer-initiated calls for ser- vice, with 79 dispatched as Priority 1 calls. Offi- cers completed 62 police reports, made 20 arrests and issued nine traffic ci- tations. There were three traffic collisions and two DUI cases, no fire calls and 18 medical aid calls.

• Assault with a deadly weapon was reported in the 700 block of O Street. A suspect in a black SUV rammed a victim's ve- hicle and police vehicle near the post office, and then fled to the area of Annadale Avenue and N Street where the SUV struck a tree. Police ar- rested the suspect.

• The theft of a catalytic converter was reported at 7:58 p.m. in the 1300 block of Gerald Avenue. • A vehicle stop at 10 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Crawford Avenue led to an arrest for mul- tiple narcotics warrants and driving without a li- cense.

Mario was born in Donna,
Texas. He married Irma Navarro in 1963, unfortunately, she passed on June 10, 1997. He is survived by his daughter Nora Rosas and husband Albert Rosas, son Mario Navarro Jr. and his wife Michelle Navarro and Veronica Rubi and husband Robert Rubi Sr.
Grandchildren Robert M. Rubi Jr, A.J. Rosas, Erik Rosas, Sebastian Rubi, Felyicia Rosas, Vanessa Navarro, Victoria Navarro, Quinn Rubi, Dominick Navarro, Jayden “JZ” Rubi and numerous extended family members and friends.
Mario started working in Sanger in 1965. He worked on the Reed Ave. ranch (Gerawan) for 57 years which was known as the Chela from 1965-1976. Then, in 1976 it was bought by Gerawan’s and he worked there until his final day. He was a dedicated hardworking person. He was the first person to get the day started and the last to leave. He never left anyone behind. He will be truly missed by all.

St. Anthony’s of Padua South, 1060 F. Street in Reedley. Monday, June 27, 2022. Wake: 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Rosary: 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 28, 2022 Mass: 10:00 a.m. Sanger Cemetery to follow

Robert “Bob” James Smothers, 79 of Sanger, died Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his home in Sanger, CA.
Bob was born in Sanger, California on April 30, 1943 to James and Wilma.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Smothers of Sanger; two sons, Robert Chavez and Rodney Smothers of Sanger; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters Carolyn, Loraine and one brother Donald.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 at Saint Mary’s church on Bethal Ave. Internment will follow at The Sanger Cemetery.
