The Eagles will compete in the Clovis Girls Varsity Volleyball Challenge on Fri- day and Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 in Clovis.
They then will open Cen- tral Sequoia League play on Tuesday, Aug. 4, against
Kingsburg High School at Im- manuel High School.
Immanuel will play a non- league match against Tulare Western on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Immanuel High, before returning to CSL play on Thursday, Sept. 6 at Exeter High.
The Eagles then will com- pete in the Madera Classic on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8 in Madera.
Linman hopes the success will continue throughout the rest of the season.

My goals are to bring each of them to their highest potential individually and as a team,” Linman said. “Winning Valley would be a bonus, but I want the girls to love the game and be the best they can be. As athletes, they are an example to others on and off the court. I'm hoping that the lessons they learn on the court and from each other will carry over into their ev- eryday lives.”

Immanuel took a 16-0 lead on a 23-yard touchdown run from Derek Wood.
After the defense forced a Farmersville punt, Trace Pires returned the ensuing punt 35 yards for a touch- down. This extended the Immanuel lead to 23-0 with
4:17 left in the first quarter. Tiger added his second touchdown of the first quar- ter, a 52-yard run, with 43 sec- onds left in the first quarter to give the Eagles a 30-0 lead. Immanuel then scored on a interception return by Andre Herrera. This gave
the Eagles a 37-0 lead. Tiger then had a 97-yard touchdown run on Immanu- el's next offensive posses- sion to make it 44-0 with 5:54
left in the first half.
Caleb Daglish connect-
ed with Wood for a 48-yard touchdown pass that gave Immanuel a commanding 52-0 lead at halftime.
Tiger added two more touchdowns in the third quarter.

The Reedley High Pirates girls volleyball team won the Caruthers Raisin Harvest Vol- leyball Tournament held Aug. 23 and 25 in Caruthers.
The Pirates went 5-0-1 in the tournament to capture the championship.
As of Aug. 28, the Pirates were undefeated at 8-0-1 on the season.
Reedley High opened the tournament on Aug. 23 with a
win over Sierra Pacific, a tie to Liberty High of Madera and a victory over Caruthers High.
On Aug. 25, the Pirates de- feated Corcoran High. They then defeated Washington Union High in the semifinals, before beating Chowchilla High in the finals.

The Eagles then won all three doubles matches.
The No. 1 doubles team was Goertzen and Robbins, while the No. 2 team was Wood and Friesen.
Kate Enns and Hunter Kreiter were the No. 3 team. “One of our focuses was keeping your feet happy dur- ing the point. This means you’re not flat footed and quick to move during the point,” Toews said. “Hannah (Friesen) was trailing her op- ponent in the beginning of her first set, but turned it around quickly and had happy feet. It definitely was an impressive match. She was levelheaded, focused and it payed off. Her opponent didn’t win an- other game for the rest of the match. Sheendedupwithset

As of Aug. 28, Immanuel was 1-1. The Eagles opened Central Sequoia League play on Aug. 28, against Kings- burg High School at the Im- manuel Sports Complex.

Toews said he believes the team is in good position to make a run this season.
“Our motto hasn’t changed; we give our all in the off season, in prac- tices and in our preseason matches,” Toews said. “We encourage the ladies to chal- lenge themselves to focus on their individual progress and have a growth mindset. We are going to give it our all, enjoy the competition and have a great time.”
They then will play Ex- eter High School on Thurs- day, Aug. 30, in Exeter, be- fore playing Dinuba High School on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Immanuel Sports Complex.
