The Fresno County De- partment of Health will pro- vide flu vaccines at the Reed- ley Community Center from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Senior Prom & Dinner
Sep. 21, a special evening of dining and entertainment will be held for local seniors 55 years and older. Tickets are $10. Come by the Senior Cen- ter, Monday -Friday from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
Café Bistro / Billiards
Bring a friend, enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and a dan- ish, and play a game of pool. We play at 9 a.m. Monday to Friday at the senior center.
Senior Center Lunches
Meals taste so much bet- ter when you enjoy them with others! Join us in the Phil Hudson Senior Room week- days at 11 a.m. (except holi- days) for a nutritious lunch and good time.

Jocko followed up by say- ing that "when things are go- ing bad, there's some good that's going to come from it."
"Didn't get promoted? Good." he said. "Didn't get funded? Didn't get the job you wanted? Good, this is a chance
to rethink and get better."

Willink's message reso- nated with me. I feel that we are more often than not, told that failure is bad, when in reality it is not, it just means a redirection of plans.
It just means we're meant to go in a different direction just like Bri did, and just like the newly ren- ovated Hotel Burgess did.
So, if you're reading this and have had some set- backs, don't give up on your dreams, just say like Jocko says,"Good" thenreanalyze, set a new plan and move forward.

Montemayor credits one of her high school teachers, Jennifer Moore, for inspiring her early in life.
"Every time I saw Ms. Moore in class, she was al- ways so positive," she said.
"She was always giving re- ally good advice really good opinions, and seeing her on a day to day basis smiling and loving what she does."
After graduating from Fresno State, Montemayor worked as a production assis- tant at KSEE 24, the local tv
news station.
She then landed her first
on air job been working at KULR News in Billings, Mon- tana.
"I was scared at first of being on tv, I would think, oh my gosh Bri what have you got yourself into," she said with a laugh. Ultimately she began to do really well and now she loves her job.
Even though living in a new state has taken some getting use to, Monteymayor said she feels this is the right career path for her. And, had it not been for that disqualifi- cation, she would have never known what was really meant for her.
"I knew I was going to go back and graduate," she said, "I made it a goal, I had to, and once I did, graduating from FresnoStatewasthebest gift I gave to myself."
