District Doings
• The Dinuba Branch of the Tulare County Library will be holding a public meeting on a proposed update of the library's Internet policy on Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m.
The library reviews their policy every few years to ensure that it is meeting the community's needs and complying with teh Children's Internet Protection Act.
The public meeting will be held at the Dinuba Branch Library. Light refreshments will be provided.
• The Dinuba Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Sexual Harassment Training Seminar on Tuesday, July 9, at the Dinuba Vocational Educational Center, located at 199 North L Street.
The training seminar will be held in order to help local businesses stay compliant with a new California State Law that went into place at the beginning of this year. The new law requires that employers with more than five employees provide at least an hour of harassment training before year's end.
The cost for the training is $35 per person. Employee training will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and manager training will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce at 591-2707.
• The Dinuba High School Class of 1979 will be having their 40th Class Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno.
The event will be a business casual attire event (T-shirts and/ or jeans will not be permitted). Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will start at 7:30 p.m. and dance will begin at 8:30 p.m.
The cost to attend is $60 per person. Payment must be received by Sept. 1, no refunds. Special hotel rates at the Holiday Inn Express on Howard St. in Fresno area availabe by mentioning the DHS Class of '79 reunion.

• JuanRodriguezRuelas,45,a transient of Dinuba was booked on June 17 on suspicion of being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia and being in possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
Police say he was contacted in the 300 block of South M Street for a city ordinance violation. After making contact with him, officers say they found in his possession drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested at the scene and then booked at the Dinuba Police Department. He was later released with a citation and a promise to appear in court.
• Jorge Luis Palomares, 29, of Reedley was booked on June 17 on suspicion of petty theft, a misdemeanor.
According to police, he was contacted in the 700 block of West El Monte Way after Walmart Lost Prevention apprehended him for concealing unpaid merchandise in a shopping cart and walking out of the store. He reportedly admitted to taking the items upon contact.
He was taken into custody, was booked and later released with a citation to appear in court.
• Curtis Vernie Bolden, 43, a transient of Dinuba was booked on June 18 on suspicion of making threats with the intent to terrorize, and vandalism, both felonies, and obstructing a police
officer, a misdemeanor. Officers say he damaged
a person’s car window while visiting him on June 17, and then threatened to kill him. The following day, officers attempted to contact him but he ran from them and got away. He was eventually arrested in the 1200 block of East Nebraska Avenue, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
• Jose Francisco Villegas, 38, a transient of Dinuba was booked on June 18 on suspicion of possessing unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
According to police, officers were called out to the Walmart parking lot regarding someone looking into vehicles and attempting to open car doors. Police reportedly made contact with Villegas in the 500 block of Monte Vista Drive, where a search revealed he was in possession of a meth pipe in his pant pocket.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the Dinuba Police Department for booking. He was fingerprinted, booked and later released with a citation to appear in court.
• Corrina Cassandra Lopez, 32, of Dinuba was booked on June 19 in suspicion of being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia and being in possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
Police say she was contacted in the 200 block of North M Street, where she was believed to have discarded contraband prior to being contacted. When officers retraced the path she was observed walking, they say
they found a pipe commonly used for smoking meth, with the end broken off and a small plastic baggy shoved inside the stem of the pipe. The baggy reportedly contained a white crystal-like substance, which officers said appeared to be methamphetamine.
A warrant search also revealed she had two outstanding local bench warrants, both for failing to appear in court.
She was arrested, booked and transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
• Jaclyn Deann Ovieda, 36, of Dinuba was booked on June 19 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, a felony.
Officers say they responded to the 1600 block of Fort Worth Avenue, where the victim stated he was retrieving his property when he was assaulted. Oviedo reportedly pushed the victim on the driveway while he was walking away and carrying a large flat screen television. Police say the victim received scratches from being pushed.
She was taken into custody and transported to the Dinuba Police Department for booking. She was later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility for housing.
• Maggie Lopez Vega, 44, a transient of Dinuba was booked on June 21 on suspicion of being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Police say she was contacted in the 100 block of North Crawford Avenue during a warrant search. Officers confirmed that she had two outstanding warrants and placed her under arrest. While

On Thursday, June 20, 2019 around 2:05 a.m., TCSO deputies from the Orosi Substation were called to a house in Orosi for a report of a 27-year-old man shot. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered the man had been shot in the upper torso. TCSO Detectives determined the shooting occurred at another location in Orosi and that the victim had been driven to the house requesting help.

Major injuries sustained in head-on collision east of Cutler

A 63-year-old Ivanhoe man suffered major injuries after having been in a two-vehicle accident on Friday, June 21.
The California High Patrol, Fresno Communications Center, received a call at approximately 4:55 a.m. regarding a two- car collision on Road 144 and Avenue 400, just east of Cutler. Officers from the Visalia Area CHP Office were dispatched to the scene.
After investigating the scene, officers determined that an E. Valenzuela, 63, of Ivanhoe was driving a 2003 Toyota sedan northbound on Road 144 near the intersection of Avenue 400. At the same time, a 32-year-
old female from Cutler, who CHP officers identified as H. Mendoza, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet pickup southbound on Road 144, approaching the Toyota sedan.
For unknown reasons, officers say the two vehicles collided, causing the Toyota sedan to veer off the road and enter a canal full of water, east of Road 144.
According to CHP officers, Mendoza did not suffer any injuries as a result of the collision. However, Valenzuela sustained major injuries and was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for treatment.
Alcohol or drug impairment does not appear to be a factor at this time, say officers.

• Alvaro Carrillo Aviles, 27, of Dinuba was June 23 on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He was also arrested on five local bench warrants for charges of vandalism, knowingly receiving stolen property, being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia and brandishing a firearm replica, all misdemeanors.
According to police, officers made contact with him in the alleyway of 100 block of North L Street just prior to midnight. After being found to have the five active arrest warrants, a search of him revealed he was in possession of baggy with a white crystalline substance in his right rear pocket.
He was arrested at the scene, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
• Gustavo Vibian Reyes, 26, of Dinuba was booked on June 24 on suspicion of making threats with the intent to terrorize, a felony, and battery to a spouse or date, a misdemeanor.
Police say the victim stated that Reyes, her ex-boyfriend, made threats to harm her and displayed a firearm that was concealed in his waistband. He was arrested in the 1000 block of East North Way, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility for housing.
