WOMEN BEHIND THE WALL - Soft Thunder Riders President Sherry Chavarria-Ethridge, right, honors Romelia Castillo at Sunders bike run, held to raise funds for the second phase of the Western Regional Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Dinuba. Castillo felt moved to bring a Vietnam Memorial Wall to Dinuba after visiting the wall in Washington D.C. back in 1997. Now that the wall is paid off, Castillo stays active on the wall committee to see it through its second phase, which will involves landscaping and a new semi-circle layout.
Wilson's Dinuba 4-H Club begins new year
First meeting will be held Monday

The Tulare County Democratic Party will be having a kick-off meeting for the Dinuba Democratic Club on September 26 at the Dinuba Memorial Hall.
Three Democratic candidates are scheduled to attend the opening meeting, including Congressional candidate Andrew Janz.
Janz is challenging incumbent Republican Devin Nunes in California’s 22nd district.
Also scheduled to attend the meeting are Democratic candidates Magdalena Gomez and Jose Sigala. Gomez is a candidate for State Center Community College Trustee and Sigala is a candidate for State Assembly. He is running in California’s 26th District,
which includes Tulare County. The seat belongs to incumbent Rebublican Devon Mathis.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The Dinuba

Wilson Dinuba 4-H is inviting students, and their families, interested in joining the club to attend the next meeting on Monday, September 17. Students ages nine through 18 are welcome to attend.
Monthly meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the third Monday of the month at the Dinuba Christian Church, located at 356 East Saginaw Avenue.
Meetings are run by club members under adult guidance. This years' club officers are; President Christopher Young, Vice President Elizabeth Gutierrez, Secretary Alex Martinez, Treasurer Lauryn Sotelo, Reporter Liz Bond, Activities Directors Dave Terry

A caravan of motorcycles roll into the Dinuba Memorial Hall on Sunday, led by Ruth Padilla and Sherry Chavarria-Ethridge of the Soft Thunder Riders. This was the fifth year the Christian women's bike club has done the run to raise funds for the wall. To date the club has raised about $7,000 to help pay, and now landscape, the wall.
Dinuba Democratic Club to have kick-off meeting
Joining the bike club was the Lord's Temple bike club, a group of Christian men bikers. Sunday's event raised over $1,200 for Dinuba's Vietnam Memorial Wall.
